Turandot at the Wiener Staatsoper

Ms. Grigorian returns to Wiener Staatsoper next month as the title-role in the revival of Puccini’s Turandot. Her performance during the production’s premier last winter was described by Gramophone as astonishing: “There was serious blade to ‘In questa reggia’, without bludgeoning the ear, and her high notes glistened [...] Above all, her acting mesmerised. Thanks to her – and Guth – we saw the real woman behind Turandot, more than a ruthless ice princess.” This time, Ms. Grigorian is joined by Ivan Gyngazov as Calaf, Jörg Schneider as Altoum, Kristina Mkhitaryan as Liu, and Dan Paul Dimustrescu as Timur. Axel Kober conducts.

Performances take place on June 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th. Tickets and more information can be found here
