Faust Award 2024
Asmik Grigorian has been awarded her third prize in the span of three months - this time a Faust, one of Austria’s most prestigious theater prizes. Upon hearing of her win, the Lithuanian soprano commented:
“Feeling blessed a guided!🙏 Third prize in 3 months!
A friend once told me : “Do not go faster than your Angel,” so I really want to thank my guardian angel from the bottom of my heart for running with me at such speed, during this long run.
My gratitude also to my friends, my family, my huge team - all my teachers and coaches and to many people, who help me constantly, every single person who shares love and admiration to my art. A huge thank you to my agent, not only for running together with me at this crazy speed, but also for carrying me sometimes on her wings like a small child who needs special attention. 😀
I want to thank all my roles for teaching me not to repeat the same mistakes and for making better choices in life. And special thanks to Salome…

Today, I want to thank the jury, who awarded me with such an important prize. Salome, directed by Dmitri Tcherniakov, means a lot to me and has a special place in my heart.
I also would like - for the first time in my life - to thank myself for finding the strength to get up again and again each time my heart breaks into small pieces, for finding the strength and courage to bring on stage all the pain, joy and tears, live them again and share them with you all.
A few days ago my colegue asked me, “Isn’t it hard for you to be so honest and transparent?” I didn’t know how to respond, because this is the only way of being that I know and I share it with you all.
This award is once more a confirmation that it’s worth it

The Faust award is presented by the Kulturstiftung der Länder, the German Academy of Performing Arts, the German Stage Association and a annually changing federal state. The prize winners are decided by a five-member jury, appointed by the Academy of Performing Arts.
